Terrified Rescue Dog Turns Into A Cuddle Bug After Meeting His Foster Mom

Terri Fox is a foster mom and an animal rescuer who lives in Woodland Hills, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. She is also the founder and president at Foxy and the Hounds, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue organization dedicated to rescue and rehabilitate injured, neglected and abused dogs as well as those at risk of euthanasia in their shelters.

When a rescue called Terri and asked if she could help a terrified dog, she agreed immediately. This rescue dog named Arnold was mad at everyone as he had never felt the touch of a kind hand. Terri just thought he was very nervous, so she gave him time to calm himself. She spent 4 hours of her day sitting in the bathroom with him, talking to him, and hanging out with him. She just wanted him to trust her and know that nothing was going to happen to him.

Dogs in Foxy and the Hounds are usually adopted within the first week but Arnold had not. He was probably abused, so he needed more time to feel safe and comfortable before going to a new home. He still thought that Terri’s presence was threatening to him. For this reason, she tried her best to let him know that nothing was going to happen when she touched him.

One day, Terri opened her hand a bit and reached to rub his chest area, he started relaxing. Though he didn’t trust her immediately, she didn’t give up. She knows that it takes a while to gain his trust. Eventually, Terri’s attempt was paid off. Arnold started wagging his tail and rolling over when she came and gave him belly rubs. He even approached her, sought her out, and her attention. After all, they become good friends.

Now, he is just very comfortable and know what love is. He is social, and a normal happy dog. He just enjoys attention, love, and touch. Arnold had come a long way, but he opens to love now. We hope that Terri will place him with a perfect forever family that will love him and treat him well.
